Diversity in the grocery store

Product diversity, that is.

My favorite Publix has been expanding their sections of "ethnic" (not really, but I can't think of an umbrella term for all these) foods. Now the sequence is
British
Indian
mixed Chinese/Japanese
Mexican
Caribbean

Kosher foods are one aisle over.

The British section is the latest--lots of cookies and candies, Bovril, golden syrup, packets of vanilla sugar, a mix of canned goods, and other stuff I can't recall. Quite a grab-bag, in other words, and I wonder how they came up with the mix. Just from requests?

where is your favorite Publix?

Just curious--I know where the "kosher" supermarkets are (Toco Hills, Dunwoody, Sandy Springs to some extent, and the Ptree Corners Trader Joe, which has kosher chicken/turkey), but am always interested in other ethnics...

Sounds like they're rolling it out a bit at a time; that almost seems like it's a local experiment. Tiptoe in a bit of this, a bit of that, see what sells. But I really have no idea, they may have been researching it for months, that's just a blind guess!

I loveloveLOVED the grocery shopping in Charlotte when I was there on vacation a couple of weeks ago! Ooooohhh, Trader Joe's, World Market, Harris Teeter.... *swoon*. (Well, and plus Ikea... and a few others....) I so over-shopped that I had to pack up and ship most of my purchases home *blush*, but we simply don't have such marvelous variety here.

Oh, my local paper had an interesting article on national trends in water useage today. I was so tickled--the Report! THE Report! I knew exactly what it was they were referring to. Kewl! Congrats on seeing it in print, and the attention it's getting. How proud you must be. :)
