The disadvantage of being out of town the week before election day is not being able to do early voting.
The advantage is missing the calls, auto-dialed or not, begging you to vote for Candidate X. Unfortunately, I didn't miss them all. There were 2 messages (maybe 3--the third was cut off and I declined to try to figure it out) supporting Hillary Clinton on my answering maching when I got home. Over the weekend I got one call on Barack Obama from a real person, and another auto-dialer for Clinton. No calls for Republican candidates--this is a strongly Democratic enclave in very Republican Georgia.

Date: 2008-02-05 11:29 am (UTC)And one Republican pollster who started off without taking a breath
askingtelling me to "Rate from one to five.." at which point I interrupted and said "I'm not doing polls this election."He had the gall to chuckle and say, "But this isn't a poll, it's a survey!"
I said,"If it's rating from 1 to 5 it's a poll, and goodby." Hung up on him.
Color me cranky.
