Where'd the weekend go?
The weekend is over, and my "must do" task is not done: I haven't finished making the last of the decisions on the shopping list for the kitchen remodeling. Yet undone: sinks, faucets, and any cabinet inserts like spice cabinets and silverware drawers. Maybe I can do this at lunch time tomorrow and get it off to my designer.
I shall blame this inaction on the weather (incredibly hot and muggy--heat index was predicted to reach 105 or so today), a nice day of fannish activity yesterday (ASFS meeting in the afternoon, and I made it to my first housefilk yesterday at
joyeuse13's, spending time at both events getting hints for my upcoming first trip to DragonCon), and some health stuff.
So there's the good parts about perimenopause: it's an indication that menopause will get here, I've managed to skip a month or two altogether--one time it was two months in a row--and I'm not having hot flashes. And then there's the bad part: sometimes, probably in retribution for the skipped months, my period comes on a shorter interval. It was bad enough after 3 weeks and timed to have me grumpy and achy when I arrived in Maine, but now after another 3 weeks...you guessed it. Can't I just say enough already? Or stick with the "every 30 or 31 days" except for months when I skip? Grrrr!

Do you have some sort of timeline, such as your mom's experience? My grandma had a hysterectomy at 33, & my mom had her first menopause at 40 with adult-onset diabetes, so I have no clue at all what's supposed to happen when. It's probably a few more years off, but the minute I get complacent, that's when something unexpected will happen, 'cause life's just like that.
It was great seeing you at ASFS & the housefilk. Remember the concerts on the concourse; that's a great way to relax & take a bit of a breather. Then there's the "get there at least an hour early toget seats" rule, especially for popular things like ARTC & the media people. Have a big time at Dragoncon!
