And it's still going!

Got an email today from a friend in Austin, with a photo attached. The photo was of my last car, a 1984 Toyota Corolla, which is apparently alive and well in Houston these days.
I sold it in 1997 when I bought my current car, a Honda CR/V. Sold the Corolla to a friend I'd worked with in Jackson, Mississippi--she was in Atlanta for a class being held in our office and drove it home, IIRC. Then a couple of years later she had some financial reverses and sold it to someone else in the Mississippi office, and he later transferred to Austin. And he then sold it to someone in Houston--I'm going to guess that it's yet another USGS employee, as we do have an office in Houston, and how else would my friend have seen the car and taken the picture?
I'm glad it's still going--I enjoyed that car (despite the time 5th gear disintegrated somewhere between Jackson and Memphis, and I had to drive on to Little Rock into a winter storm in 4th). May it last many more miles for its current owner.
