Vague thoughts on remodeling

nlbarberI don't think I've mentioned here that I'm finally getting serious about tackling a kitchen remodel. After all, I've owned this house 10 years, and I said the kitchen needed remodeling when I first looked at it. (The bowed formica countertop and 1960's appliances are just some of the reasons why.)

patgund posted The Dilbert House. There are lots of things I really like about that house, but I'm in love with the Cat Room. Must see if the waist-height counter for the litterbox, with steps leading to it for the cats, can be built in my utility room somehow. The utility room is to be connected to the kitchen in the planned remodel, you see, in part to allow the litterbox to move out of the kitchen.

Date: 2004-10-05 07:06 pm (UTC)Renovations are about to be hurried by impending Appliance Death: the soap compartment on the dishwasher now refuses to latch. So far, I'm still using it by just pouring in the soap and going straight to the wash cycle, but The End Is Near.
