- Fri, 16:36: Bad start to Disney weekend, cell phone died in the Orlando airport. Tweets will be less frequent since I have to haul out the iPad.
- Fri, 16:38: After some navigational hurdles, have found Wilderness Lodge and checked in to my room. "Std View" is of nearby roof gable.
- Fri, 16:39: Off to find lunch then boat to Magic Kingdom--may decide not to do Big Thunder FP+ if it's too hot to rush to the back of the park.
- Fri, 17:25: Got beef and blue on focaccia, minus the blue, at Roaring Fork. Remember to get mayo next time--good flavor but too dry without the cheese.
- Fri, 17:26: Hot wait on the dock for boat to MK, pulled out. Y umbrella for shade despite the dork factor. Finally on the way to MK.
- Fri, 17:28: Amazing how well hidden the Contemporary is from Wilderness Lodge--just behind an island w trees.
- Fri, 17:29: That is old-style Disney, each area is its own themed bubble. They've started violating that more and more with newer stuff.
- Fri, 19:45: MK action: stopped @ Guest Services for new Tables in Wonderland card, can use tonight at Artist Point. Some pin trading in Frontierland.
- Fri, 19:47: Used FP+ on Big Thunder Mtn RR, had the front car. Chilled briefly in pin store, bought iced tea in Liberty Sq on way to parade FP+ area.
- Fri, 19:48: The new parade is wonderful, great viewing at the turn off the Liberty Sq bridge. VERY hot, though--used umbrella for shade until parade.
- Fri, 19:53: More window shopping in A/C stores, now at Pinnochio Haus w more tea and A/C before first ride on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
- Fri, 22:02: Love Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, just wish it was longer. Much smoother curves than Big Thunder, cool animatronics. Must ride it at night next.
- Fri, 22:03: 7DMT seats are...confining, though. Seat is maybe shaped to fit some imaginary average human.
- Fri, 22:05: Walked the mostly shady path from Circus area to Tomorrowland, pin traded, not finding any of the really new pins like the MagicBands.
- Fri, 22:05: Inspected construction at the hub through gaps in walls--lots of earth moving in progress to make the wider paths and seating areas.
- Fri, 22:18: Instead of red-flagged vessel to go to WL (green flag goes to Fort W.), we had the pirate boat!
- Fri, 22:18: Pin traded through the Emporium then out to the (shaded) waiting area for boats. Must remember how long Disney transportation takes...
- Fri, 22:20: Explored WL area, geyser, found shop and bought the new WL pin for my trip set. No pin board there, only at front desk and pin cart.
- Fri, 22:21: Checked out the fireplace chimney that recreates Grand Canyon stratigraphy. Nice fossil displays on each floor, representative of strata.
- Fri, 22:54: Showered, changed, will shortly go down to Artist Point for dinner. Very relaxing way to have a meal @ Disney. :)
- Fri, 22:56: More on room: low level noise intrusions from Whispering Canyon in lobby, which is always rowdy. Mostly I won't be here in noisy period.
- Fri, 22:58: Room is handicapped equipped, not obnoxiously so. Grab bars all over bath, hand held shower option, lower closet plus regular height.
- Fri, 23:46: Artist Point: sourdough w butter and Hawaiian sea salt, waiting on smoked Cornish hen, edamame, other stuff I can't remember.
- Sat, 00:13: Other stuff was wild rice, dried cherries, cashews, edamame, chard, and roasted pearl onions. Yum! On to cobbler for dessert.
- Sat, 00:44: Cobbler was blueberry/blackberry, I think, fresh raspberries & blackberries on top. Subbed salted caramel for black raspberry ice cream.
- Sat, 00:47: Waddled to room, found huge padded Adirondack chair in lounge on my floor (4th), alas no WiFi signal. Noisy, too--Whispering Canyon again
- Sat, 00:48: Will see if I can drag myself out to shore for Electrical Water Pageant at 9:35.
- Sat, 01:00: Airport this AM: didn't get Pre, but got funneled to line with random bomb-swipe of hands then Pre style X-ray. Good--I was late.
- Sat, 01:02: Ran late this AM looking for roll of quarters I got for tolls, which turned up when I unpacked at hotel. Got more at MCO bank branch.
- Sat, 01:03: Turned out quarters aren't required--tollways to WDW still have cashiers, though exact change lanes are faster.
- Sat, 02:38: Just upgraded fr Omron pedometer to FitBit One--today is comparison day. The clip broke on pedometer, was ready for a change anyway.
- Sat, 02:41: Pedometer: 16,222 steps, 6.65 miles FitBit: 15,928 steps, 12 floors of stairs, 6.77 miles. Close enough.
- Sat, 02:43: I like the FitBit stair tracking, though I don't have stairs at home or work. Here I've 2 flights up and down between lobby and room.
