Horizon ARC

I mailed this offer to the Bujold list, and thought I'd put a copy here in case someone on my flist isn't keeping up with the list at the moment or (gasp) isn't on the main Bujold list at all:

If there has been an offer of a circulating ARC of Horizon for North American listees, I missed it. James Bryant has one making the rounds for those not in N.A.

I have obtained a Horizon ARC that I'm willing to let circulate, and will borrow from James's statement of conditions for those who are interested in reading it:

[1] You will buy your own copy when the book is published,

[2] You will report receipt by email to me and the rest of the recipient list and forward it, within no more than three days of receiving it, to the next person on the list, This gives you
two full days to read it. If there's more than one person in the house who wants to read it, you can have one more day.

[3] You will pass it on by hand if you live within a reasonable distance of the next recipient, or will forward it at your own expense using FedEx or any other service which offers on-line tracking, and will email the tracking number to me and everyone on the list of recipients so any of us can watch its progress, and

[4] You will take good care of the book while it is in your possession.

I'll take names of people interested until Monday, November 10, and then will organize the list of recipients and get it on the way. Send your request with your mailing address to me OFF LIST, please.

I'd love to hear what you thought of it. My feeling is that folks who don't like this series are going to HATE this one.

I loved it--but then I like the series as a whole. Horizon is definitely my favorite of the four. I got a copy of the ARC a month ago and devoured it. Twice. (The copy I'm going to circulate is a bargain-basement-price one I lucked into last week.)

I thought Horizon might make some of the folks who have been lukewarm about the series happier. No lack of excitement in this one, and I at least found the resolution very satisfying. Did you think it had even more romance cooties than the others? That's been the most often expressed reason for disliking the series, I think. Well that, and "it's not a Miles book".

No, my office is still at PIB and Winter's Chapel. I thought it was you who'd moved offices, or changed employers, or something.

Can I get the ARC to you tomorrow, and get it back Monday? Then it can start the mail-out route Wednesday (no mail on Tuesday for Veteran's Day). Panera for lunch tomorrow is most convenient for me, as Friday would take a special trip to that part of town.

Send me an email...I'm not sure I have yours in my current address book.
