Dosing the cat 2

Second dose of liquid antibiotic was administered using the little syringe (I used the dropper the first time) and the 'wrap animal in large towel' technique. Took 2 wrapping attempts before I got the medicine squirted in his mouth, and he was not much consoled by the fingerful of beef baby food (kept for giving Agatha her vitamin/joint supplement) offered afterwards.

Note: trim claws before time for the evening round.

Always a good idea.

I tried the towel trick with Linnet (orange cat in icon) once. Or, rather, I tried to try the towel trick with Linnet once. Linnet does not wrap in a towel well. What I do is back him in a corner, kneel in front of him, put his front paws between my (sturdily jeaned) knees, pry his mouth open with one hand and squirt the med from the syringe down his little throat with the other.

Morgan (white cat in icon) sees me coming with meds, does the catly version of a shrug, and opens his mouth. And to think I used to think that cat wasn't very smart...

It shows the depth of our obsession that, even before admiring the cute kitty in the icon, I'm squinting, trying to make out the title of the book next to it.

Good luck with the meds!

I thought it looked familiar. Yay for the SFBC & Jim Baen, for making previously OOP books available in hardback!
