I left my office to the painters and carpet people yesterday around 1, and came home for the duration. First discovery is that my phone setup (cordless unit with a cheap headset plugged in) causes static on the conference call line. V. annoying, as I have 2 more calls this week. Must try to determine if it's the headset, or the cordless phone. I don't really want to hold the handset for 2 hours at a pop, but it's better than holding the handset *and* punching the mute/unmute button every time I want to talk.

Today's fun was accidentally trashing my Lotus Notes client installation. I made 2 attempts to use the Web client before buckling down to fix the problem, which only took 5 hours or so. (It wouldn't have been better in the office, as Mac support is up to us die-hard Mac users.) So that was most of a day lost to computer hassles--first thing tomorrow I must decide on my new office arrangement and ship a diagram to my supervisor, then get through a couple of my action items before the 2-4 PM conference call.

On a brighter note, my dinner this evening was wonderful, if I do say so. I had leftover putanesca sauce (diced canned tomato, sun-dried tomatoes, Kalamata olives, capers, pesto) from last week, when I'd tried out a new recipe and served it over broccoli (avoiding the calories in pasta). Tonight I browned some chicken breasts, put the putanesca sauce on top, sprinkled a little cheese on that, and put it in the oven about 20 minutes until the chicken was done. The putanesca sauce recipe is a keeper, easy and good--the only problem is that no one in the family but me eats olives, so I'll be investigating how well it freezes. Well, my father would if he were visiting, but then he's not so big on meatless meals.
