Betsy came over this evening at 5:30, and we pulled out the kitchen faucet and the hot water dispenser. She will get Tyson to see if he thinks the hot water unit can go at the back right corner of the sink where I want it. The faucet will be fine in between the 2 basins, installed without the oval base. The disposal switch will go behind the (smaller) left basin.

As my sister-in-law warned me, Betsy expected the disposal to go on the smaller sink ("that's the way it's designed--you scrape the plates here, and wash in the big sink"). Sorry, not my working procedure. I work and clean in the big sink, so food waste ends up there. The smaller sink will be mostly a drain area. Yes, it's on the left and I'm left-handed. Just put the disposal in the big right-hand basin, OK?

We also discussed cabinet pull placement. Betsy wanted them maybe an inch off the edge. I'm thinking more like 2 or 2-1/2 inches. I'm going to get sister-in-law over to look and see if she agrees with me. Didn't happen tonight, but I don't think anything much is happening right now, and Betsy will be on vacation next week (while we're making the family trip to NY).

Oh, appliance installation is still somewhat vague. Laminate countertops may get ordered tomorrow--she was going to wait until after the washer and dryer had been installed, but as that's not happening real soon, she's going ahead.
