Google LJ Friendsmap

Just found out about all the neat things people are doing with Google Maps extensions, like drawing LJ Friendslist maps. You'll need to click on one of the links at the top (like "All") to see the locations plot. This may already be making the rounds as a meme, but I'm behind on my reading, as usual.

And you can click on the Unfound link to see people's locations that it couldn't understand--lots of them are State-names only, but there are a few typos in there. Unknown are those who don't have a location in their LJ user info. Don't know why it couldn't handle "Newcastle", toraks!

It couldn't find several of my friends either! Maybe with Newcastle it was looking for the one in Australia? ;-)

Oh and did you get taelle in Florida?

Missed that one. It did find a St. Petersburg--maybe just the signs of the latitude and longitude are reversed....
