Coming in late on this adventure--I just updated my friends list this weekend, to add you and tygerr--so I read back a ways to catch up. Poor Fish!
We went through something like this with Ikkabod, though never did discover precisely what happened. (I suspect she ate a scorpion.) No surgery, but the barium and xrays and boarding at the vet for five days was... not cheap. Not so much as Fish's bill, though (ouch!).
Glad your little fuzzy fella is recovering. Scritches and headbutts and (very gentle) belly rubs from Auntie Sunlizzard & the Quad Squad!
