Rome and Viterbo both had some pretty cold periods, but mostly we've had not-heavy coats and one or two layers like a long sleeved knit shirt and a thin sweater, or a shirt and pullover. Layers get shed as the day heats up. Rain is to be expected, but so far it's been light so we've been willing to keep going in it. (This is after all of 4 days so far, you understand...)

Venice is a good bit further north, so the rain predicted for Wednesday may be pretty cold and miserable. We'll see--pity that mostly we want to just walk or ride the canals in Venice, instead of being in museums all day.
