Have the friends you'll be visiting in Cincinnati seen you since you began WW, or will you have the joy of amazing them with the new you?
Both the friends and most of the co-workers that'll be at the committee meeting will not have seen me since before I started. For the friends, I see David once a year when he's in Atlanta for a meeting--that was last fall. Haven't seen Sue (or the kids) since they made a family trip through Atlanta in...geez, was it 1999? These are people I keep up with via Christmas letters, basically.
The committee meets once a year, too, and the last meeting was last August in Carson City, NV. I saw one person of the group in April, but the rest of them will (maybe) be amazed. :)
I've decided the world is divided into those who Notice changes in personal appearance, and those who Don't Notice. I have to admit that I'm generally a Don't Notice, myself--you can cut your hair, start/stop wearing glasses, lose or gain weight, but I sometimes have to be hit with a 2x4 before I'll do more than vaguely wonder to myself "Has something changed?" This tendency to Not Notice almost certainly accounts for my poor ability to remember faces.
