In my morning work email: a message from the Secretary of the Interior to all USGS employees, sent by a USGS HQ employee who often sends these all-hands memos. It's a thank-you message for work on various hazards lately, like the Kilauea eruption, the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, floods, etc.

The email is a scan of the original memo. The scan is crooked and is too large to be read without lateral scrolling when my Lotus Notes window is maximized in a 20" monitor. It's almost as bad as the emails that consist of an attached Word file with 3 sentences of text in them. I assume this one was scanned so we could all have the pleasure of seeing Ken Salazar's signature, the letterhead, and the hand-stamped date. Guess no one had the time or tools to straighten the scan a little...
