News from next door
Sep. 19th, 2010 09:29 pmAnd in the weekend news: older niece passed her driving test on Saturday, and is now able to get herself to at least some of her scheduled events. I'm not sure if her parents are going to let her dive in to Atlanta's freeway traffic immediately, though she's been driving to school each day for a while (which involves going south on I-85 and back north on I-75 in morning rush hour), so perhaps it won't be long.
The driving examiner was discomfited by her taking the exam in a Prius--he'd never been in one before. First stop light, when the car cut off, was what did it...
And now that there's a third driver, they've added a third car. The purchase of a Ford Fusion (manual shift, non-hybrid) was completed Saturday night. I understand that the aging Prius will become the 'kid's car'--younger niece will get her learner's permit in January.
