Got up at a leisurely pace, ate breakfast, read part of the paper, then went a'gardening. Same old routine there: dug more liriope, pulled up ivy and vinca. Today's efforts reduced another 4 or 5 feet of the border to the desired width, plus I got most of the other undesirables (oak and pine seedlings, etc.) from underneath the butterfly bushes. Yesterday I had worked on the same area until I was driven inside by a downpour, so the concentrated effort is showing some results.
Anyway, I came in in time to cool off, shower, eat some lunch, and get to WW. Ran a few errands on the way home, then went back to reading the paper and some email, until sister-in-law and the kids showed up with a birthday present. We're going out tomorrow night for a celebration (brother and s-i-l have a babysitter tonight, and are having some time to themselves), but the present needed to be delivered on The Day.

It's a lovely, metal (aluminum or something--shiny silvery, not pewter) picture frame in the shape of a cat, with a little fish dangling from its mouth. I need to get a better picture of the 2 cats to put in it, but for now, I'm using the same shot as my default LJ icon, as you see.
