USB printing through an Extreme/TC only supports printing, not scanning or other AIO features. If the network printer is connected via Ethernet or Wifi, then whatever it supports should work.

Time Machine IS NOT supported backing up to hard drives connected to an Airport Extreme. It is supported backing up to Time Capsules, and external drives connected to Time Capsules.
