Retail tour of Boise, computer division
My meeting started today at the local USGS office. Pretty productive, though it's looking like we can't possibly get through the critical tasks in the 4 days we have. Oh well...
At the end of the day, I agreed to take Krissi in search of a power brick for her laptop--she left hers and the local office doesn't have one that will work. Todd and Kathie joined us, and we set out in search of Best Buy. Never did get there, but we visited Circuit City, a local computer specialty store, Staples, and CompUSA to no avail--her Panasonic laptop (gov't contract purchase...) uses some odd combination of amperage and connector style, and it's not to be found in a 'universal replacement' sort of product.
We eventually gave up, and being in the vicinity of the Boise mall, gravitated to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner before heading to the hotel. No local color, but good food.
